The Project
The database aims to gather the scattered information and make it accessible as
a tool for anyone dealing with cases affecting migrant workers, including lawyers,
social workers and authorities active in the field of migrant workers. The database
ultimate goal is to include all texts that are applicable to foreign workers in
Lebanon such as international treaties and agreements, laws, decrees, regulations
and administrative decisions, interpretations of the courts, jurisprudence, studies,
news items and publications of the official journals. It goes without saying that
the project is very ambitious in its final outcome. It is currently in its first
phase, where the technical infrastructure and a considerable content is already
in the database. However, it is understood that content update process itself is
an on-going process and the database is deemed to grow with time.
